Byrne's areas of expertise are technical and financial.  He is a past entrepreneur in industrial electronics with a broad knowledge of the scientific and technical landscape.  He is experienced in product design and development management.

Current areas of concentration are business valuation and assessment:  Understanding of business operations and business-to-business marketing with particular interest in technological businesses and technology commercialization.

Byrne's 2004 MBA rounds out a career which has covered all aspects of business.  The MBA takes the nuts and bolts of daily business and puts them firmly into the strategic framework.  The emphasis on international thinking structures that framework against the world economy. Early training and experience in accounting practice form a foundation for financial analysis and planning.
